Intellectual Property: Difference Between Patent, Trademark, Copyright
According to WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), Intellectual Property refers to the creation and labor of the mind, including its fruition.
According to WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), Intellectual Property refers to the creation and labor of the mind, including its fruition. It could be inventions, artistic and literary works, symbols, names, images and designs used in commerce. So, when someone came up with an epic or novel artistic creations, it can be protected in various ways and in many levels. This can be Patents, Trademarks or Copyright. But what are they exactly and how are they any different?
It might be a little harder how we might be able to notice the growth spurts of information technology as spearheaded by the thing called Internet or Interconnected Networks of Computers.
We saw how the internet evolved from being confined in a military laboratory to local networking system to a national tool of communication until it became a global phenomenon. We also noticed how the internet evolved from a caterpillar data mobility, otherwise known as dial-up to a speed close to the speed of light. In fact fast and constant evolution of the internet makes one sophisticated tool before becomes a museum collector’s item of today.
So, in 20 years, how is internet’s gonna be?
We have handfuls of predictions – might not be an exact science but a scholarly hypothesis about the future of the internet.
1.) Internet connections will soon be more permanent and palpable. No matter where you are – you could be in an open city or inside the belly of a whale, internet connectivity will be of no difference. Singularity or the universality of the internet will soon be a common thing of the future.
2.) Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality will be the new normal in the internet communication in the near future. We have seen that Google enabled street view in almost every corners of the world that also empowers the end-user to scan the place at whatever degrees he wants, contrary to a flat image projection.
In the future, mobile phones and some other mobile devices will be equipped with a very powerful processors – so powerful that it will be able to project Virtual and Augmented reality.

Right now, some of the proponents of this new age technology are Google with there Google Glass, Microsoft’s HoloLens, Facebook’s Oculus Rift, HTC Vive by HTC, Playstation VR by Sony and a lot more.
3.) One of the most chilling effect of the information technology at large, is the apparent domination of artificial intelligence. Intelligence that might either compromise or enhance human work forces. As AI programming is becoming more astute and elaborate, joblessness might just be one of it’s after effects. People working in the customer service industry will highly be maimed as customer support mechanism will be mustered by machines and will be able to draw decisions for the customer at the other side of the Internet.
4.) Privacy will be a luxury in the future. As internet connectivity becomes powerful and intelligent day by day, privacy will be become a public commodity. Privacy will become too ubiquitous that only those with financial tenacity will have the luxury of getting off the grid of offensive over familiarity.
5.) Internet Of Things. Your mobile phones and some other mobile devices might just go beyond what it’s intended purpose of communication. With the advent of the Interconnectivity Of Things or IoT, all your common household appliances will now be centralized under one mobile command center, near or far – your mobile phones. You can let your mobile phone schedule your toaster to heat up a slice of lunch for you while you’re on your way on the street or control the temperature of your refrigerator while you are busy with your office work.
6.) Higher Learning Curve. Information Technology is evolving fast at an unimaginable pace – to the extent the learning curve will be too high for an average Joe to hustle up. Since everyone is reliant to the computing power of the internet technology, human brain will be too dependent on it that it won’t be able to execute minor activity requiring minor calculations without it. Hence, away from this intelligent creation, human will see himself adrift and lost.
7.) Internet technology will go beyond the bounds of the Earth. Internet will be so immersible and available on earth that it will soon find it’s way out of this world – Mars. Today’s hype of Martian colonization not just by government institutionalized interstellar divisions, but by private sectors vying their way towards extraterrestrial tourism will pave it’s way towards much far reaching Internet technology.
So there you are!
These predictions are highly educated hypothesis of the future of Internet. This could contain lots of false-positive and false-negative that might happen or not. It’s all in the hands of those who possess the power and the will to change and to move forward.
See you at the promising daylight of tomorrow!
